Overview
All emerging evidence indicates that heart attacks, stroke, and cardiovascular-related deaths can be reduced with preventive measures. These preventive measures include medications, therapeutic interventions and lifestyle changes.
However, only <10% of patients with established cardiovascular disease end up taking appropriate guideline-directed therapies and achieving their targets. Why does this happen? One answer is fragmented care where each healthcare specialist functions in a silo. Thus, another approach where the patient is at the center of care is needed. This approach permits better control of blood pressure, lipid profile, and blood glucose and enhances the overall wellbeing of the patient.
In addition, the latter approach is much appreciated in weight management. Recent evidence has clearly shown that weight management is at the foundational base where it reduces the number of antihypertensive and anti-diabetes medications needed, leads to a favorable overall metabolic profile specifically lowering bad cholesterol levels, and also reduces major undesired bad health outcomes. Recognizing the complexity and importance of weight management, we pay special attention to that through offering a range of options from the treatment of food craving to more classical approaches reaching up to surgical & non-surgical interventions to treat overweight and obesity.
The Cardiometabolic Center of Excellence focuses all the specialists on the patient. This permits not only integrated quality care but also ensures all patients get the highest standards and most up-to-date care present. We achieve that via recommending to our patients’ pathways that are based on their clinical condition and personal aims in specialized clinics. And all through we monitor the patients’ results, discuss them as a team, and provide a comprehensive plan with achievable steps and measurable outcomes.
