Imperial Private Healthcare launches International Affiliate Network

This week marks the launch of the Imperial Private Healthcare International Affiliate Network.

The network has been established to develop relationships with aspirational hospitals across the world, share knowledge and expertise and advance patient care. We are very pleased to welcome our first member, Aman Hospital, Qatar of Jaidah Holdings.

Multidisciplinary teams from Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust – the ‘parent’ organisation for Imperial Private Healthcare – will work collaboratively with network members to help them make improvements to their clinical care and services. We will also establish processes to enable members to transfer patients to and from Imperial Private Healthcare’s London facilities if more complex care is needed. This may enable patients to return to their ‘home’ hospital sooner than with a standard overseas referral.

We will work with member hospitals to agree a programme of education and consulting initiatives, tailored to their improvement objectives. This programme will be delivered online, locally and/or at our London facilities.

The International Affiliate Network will also provide Trust staff with unique work experience and development opportunities, helping to improve care for the Trust’s patients and local communities.

We are grateful for the support we have received in the development of the network from Healthcare UK and the newly formed NHS Export Collaborative, a joint initiative between NHS England, NHS Improvement, the Department of Health and Social Care and the Department for International Trade.

Aman Hospital, the first in the network, is expected to open in October 2021. It will be a 100-bed facility offering a wide range of medical and surgical services across numerous specialities, including cardiology, ophthalmology and obstetrics.

The affiliation agreement between Imperial Private Healthcare and Aman Hospital was co-developed and agreed by Dr. Mazen J. Jaidah, Executive Chairman of Jaidah Holdings, owner of Aman Hospital, and Alistair Russell, Director of Business Development, Imperial Private Healthcare and Nick Fox, Executive Commercial Director, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

All profits from Imperial Private Healthcare are reinvested back into the Trust, supporting both NHS and private healthcare.
