Scope of Practice
- Refractive, medical and surgical care of the eyes
- Treatment of eye diseases and injury
- General eye examination for adults and children
- Medical and surgical treatment of cornea and external diseases of the eye (corneal abrasions, dry eyes, blepharitis, styes and chalazia)
- Cataract surgery with advanced intraocular lens (IOL) placement (multifocal, toric)
- YAG laser capsulotomy after cataract surgery
- Refractive corneal LASIK (all laser) and surface laser surgeries (PRK) to reduce glasses dependence
- Therapeutic laser to the cornea to reduce scars and improve vision (Phototherapeutic keratectomy-PTK)
- Keratoconus evaluation and management (contact lenses, ultraviolet crosslinking and corneal ring insertion, phakic IOL implantation, and corneal transplantation)
- Pterygium evaluation and surgery
- Glaucoma management and follow up
- Contact lens evaluation with simple and complex fittings
