Essential Job functions and key responsibilities:
- Help the pharmacist in dispensing and maintaining the records of dispensed drugs
- Pick up orders and process the order entry to update the patient profile to be checked and validated by the pharmacist
- Assist in ordering, receiving, unpacking and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations
- Restock medications and IV supplies, rotate stock to ensure use before expiration date
- Prepare intravenous admixtures (including Total Parenteral Nutrition) according to preset guidelines for aseptic techniques
- Prepare extemporaneous medications according to preset formulations
- Operate all equipment needed to perform the duties (e.g. Laminar flow hood, Carousel, Omnicell®, Pneumatic tube)
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and best service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
- Processes (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performs other clerical duties, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager
- Participate in the quality improvement activities of the department
- Help the pharmacist in devising standard operating procedures and guidelines
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Licensure: Possession of a valid license to practice as a pharmacist in the country of residence at the time of employment. AND should be eligible for license in the State of Qatar within the Supreme Council of Health.
- Education: A Diploma of recognized two (2) year Pharmacy Technician program. Note: ONLY Diploma qualified will be considered, NOT Bachelor Degree.
- Experience: Minimum Experience: Two (2) years licensed experience at hospital pharmacy and/or retail pharmacy
- Computer Skills: Proficient use in Microsoft Office Applications as well as other software needed by the job.
- Languages: Arabic & English.
