Essential Job functions and key responsibilities:

  • Help the pharmacist in dispensing and maintaining the records of dispensed drugs
  • Pick up orders and process the order entry to update the patient profile to be checked and validated by the pharmacist
  • Assist in ordering, receiving, unpacking and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations
  • Restock medications and IV supplies, rotate stock to ensure use before expiration date
  • Prepare intravenous admixtures (including Total Parenteral Nutrition) according to preset guidelines for aseptic techniques
  • Prepare extemporaneous medications according to preset formulations
  • Operate all equipment needed to perform the duties (e.g. Laminar flow hood, Carousel, Omnicell®, Pneumatic tube)
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and best service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
  • Processes (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performs other clerical duties, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager
  • Participate in the quality improvement activities of the department
  • Help the pharmacist in devising standard operating procedures and guidelines

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Possession of a valid license to practice as a pharmacist in the country of residence at the time of employment. AND should be eligible for license in the State of Qatar within the Supreme Council of Health.
  • Education: A Diploma of recognized two (2) year Pharmacy Technician program. Note: ONLY Diploma qualified will be considered, NOT Bachelor Degree.
  • Experience: Minimum Experience: Two (2) years licensed experience at hospital pharmacy and/or retail pharmacy
  • Computer Skills: Proficient use in Microsoft Office Applications as well as other software needed by the job.
  • Languages: Arabic & English.
