About Aman Hospital:

Aman Hospital is one of Qatar’s leading healthcare providers, offering cutting-edge services with a focus on quality care and patient satisfaction. We are expanding our Eye Care and Orthoptic Unit and are looking for a highly skilled Optometrist with Orthoptist Experience to join our team and help us deliver exceptional services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive eye exams and visual assessments, diagnosing refractive errors, eye diseases, and binocular vision problems.
  • Diagnose and manage conditions such as strabismus (misaligned eyes), amblyopia (lazy eye), and other binocular vision disorders using orthoptic techniques.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses, vision therapy, and other treatment plans to improve patients’ vision and eye coordination.
  • Work closely with ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers to provide integrated care for patients with complex eye conditions.
  • Provide patient education regarding eye health, vision correction, and post-treatment care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with medical standards and hospital policies.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in optometry and orthoptics and implement best practices in patient care.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Optometry from a recognized institution.
  • Orthoptist experience with expertise in diagnosing and treating binocular vision disorders (such as strabismus, amblyopia, etc.).
  • At least 3-5 years of clinical experience as an optometrist, with a strong background in orthoptics.
  • Valid Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Qatar.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate and professional patient care.
  • Fluency in English (Arabic language skills are an advantage).

Ms. Wazne received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the Lebanese American University in 2011 . She completed her Masters degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the Lebanese University. Ms. Wazne has worked at the American University of Beirut Medical Center for more than ten years. Ms. Wazne has given a variety of oral presentations to nurses, and pharmacists on local and national level . She has been certified from Harvard Medical School in Immuno-oncology and Cancer Genomics. She is an active member in the Order of Pharmacists of Lebanon. Her professional interests include medication safety and research.

Scope of practice

Sirine Abou Al Hassan is a US. registered clinical dietitian with extensive experience in nutritional management of chronic and diet-related diseases. Previously, Sirine worked as clinical dietitian specialized in obesity weight management, Child and Maternal Health and Eating Disorders. She graduated from University College London with a masters of science in Clinical Nutrition and Eating Disorders; Following on from a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics-Coordinated Program from the American University of Beirut, both with distinction
