Scope of Practice

  • Timely evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and disposition for a broad spectrum of illness and injuries
  • Triage patients in standard and disaster settings
  • Oversee a wide range of medical and surgical problems across many areas and all age groups
  • Follow up on patient care, treatment, and recovery
  • Identify and immediately manage serious and life-threatening conditions
  • Emergency resuscitation (medical or traumatic), stabilize patients’ condition, then determine disposition
  • Perform lifesaving interventions
  • Comfortable in performing bedside ultrasound procedures to help in diagnosis and management
