Job Summary & Scope:

Staff Nurses are an integral part of the healthcare system, encompassing autonomous and collaborative care of individuals of all ages, families, groups and communities, sick or well and in all settings. It includes the promotion of health, prevention of illness, and the care of ill, disabled and dying people. Advocacy, promotion of a safe environment, research, participation in shaping health policy and in patient and health systems management, and education are also key nursing roles (ICN, 2018). To establish and maintain a therapeutic partnership with patients and their families to achieve optimum health and well-being through appropriate assessment, critical analysis of clinical information, clinical reasoning, care planning, intervention, evaluation, and education. Registered nurses may practice in a variety of clinical contexts depending on their educational preparation and practice experience. They are accountable for ensuring all health services they provide are consistent with their education and assessed competence, meet legislative requirements and are supported by appropriate standards.

Essential Job Functions & Key responsibilities:

  1. Professional responsibility, performance and practice:
    • Accepts responsibility and accountability for all actions and decision making within scope of practice as defined by QCHP.
    • Adheres to the Code of Conduct for QCHP, and the hospital.
    • Completes mandatory and unit specific competencies and demonstrates ongoing compliance with appropriate evidence.
    • Develops and maintains own professional portfolio.
    • Takes responsibility for own professional development and actively engages in ongoing self-directed learning.
    • Obtains accredited and non-accredited Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Units in compliance with QCHP requirements.
    • Complete mandatory annual staff training requirements.
    • Participates in self and peer evaluation including reflective practice.
    • Maintain any qualifications, including license and certificates such as Basic Life Support and other mandatory training within established timeframes.
    • Complying consistently with all hospital policies, procedures and practices relevant to position.
    • Demonstrates leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.

Qualification Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
· Valid Registration / License from country of current practice.
· Relevant qualification required to obtain QCHP license to practice in Qatar.
· 3-4 years of relevant full-time work experience that includes minimum 1-year of experience in the area of specialisation.
· A good level of spoken English and adequate written English skills to enable communication with other staff and keeping of medical records is essential.
· Basic computer skills to enter and retrieve medical records.
· Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
· Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Ms. Wazne received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the Lebanese American University in 2011 . She completed her Masters degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the Lebanese University. Ms. Wazne has worked at the American University of Beirut Medical Center for more than ten years. Ms. Wazne has given a variety of oral presentations to nurses, and pharmacists on local and national level . She has been certified from Harvard Medical School in Immuno-oncology and Cancer Genomics. She is an active member in the Order of Pharmacists of Lebanon. Her professional interests include medication safety and research.

Scope of practice

Sirine Abou Al Hassan is a US. registered clinical dietitian with extensive experience in nutritional management of chronic and diet-related diseases. Previously, Sirine worked as clinical dietitian specialized in obesity weight management, Child and Maternal Health and Eating Disorders. She graduated from University College London with a masters of science in Clinical Nutrition and Eating Disorders; Following on from a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics-Coordinated Program from the American University of Beirut, both with distinction
