Services Provided

At Aman Vein clinic, a wide range of minimally invasive Vein treatments is provided. These include complete care for Varicose Veins, Pelvic congestion syndrome, Varicocele, Hand veins, and Deep Vein Thrombosis.

Varicose Veins and Spider Veins

Description:

Varicose veins and spider veins are swollen, twisted veins that frequently appear on the legs. A mild variation of varicose veins is called spider veins, which are smaller, red, purple, and blue vessels that are also twisted and turning. The Signs and Symptoms include dark blue or purple veins that are visible through the skin, veins that appear like they are twisted or bulging, heavy feelings in the legs, leg throbbing, swelling or muscle cramping, pain after prolonged sitting or standing, itchiness around the sides of your veins and skin discoloration around the veins.

Treatment of limited Varicose veins and Spider veins:

  • Sclerotherapy:
Nonsurgical method considered to treat small varicose veins and spider veins. A medical solution is injected into the veins. This solution occludes the vein permanently and blood is redirected to healthier veins. Over two to three weeks, the closed vein will heal and visually disappear.

Treatment of Varicose veins:

  • Radiofrequency Ablation:
This procedure is performed through a small skin puncture; a supple radiofrequency catheter is inserted into the vein. Heat provided through the catheter occludes the vein from within.
  • Endovenous Laser Vein Ablation:
Laser vein ablation is very similar to radiofrequency ablation, except that a laser fiber is used as an alternative of a radiofrequency catheter. The heat generated from laser fibers is deeper and is directed to close the targeted vessel.
  • Venaseal:
This is one of the latest cutting-edge procedures presented. Medical grade glue is injected into the vein, which occludes it off. This is one of the most minimally invasive procedures.
  • ClariVein:
This procedure is basically a form of Sclerotherapy, amended for larger veins. A catheter with a rotating head is inserted into the vein. This catheter sprays solution from within, diffusing it all long the vein, in all directions. This allows the vein to scar, seal off, and finally disappear.

Benefits of the above treatments include:

  • Day Case
  • Local Anesthesia
  • Results without surgery. This means without incisions or stitches
  • Pain Free Procedures
  • Quick recovery time return to daily activities after treatment
  • Disappearance of unappealing spider veins and varicose veins
  • Much lower risks of any type of nerve damage
  • Improved body image
Pelvic congestion syndrome

Description:

Pelvic congestion syndrome is also known as pelvic vein incompetence. This medical illness causes chronic pelvic pain. Other symptoms include heaviness, or discomfort in the lower abdominal or pelvic region. This generalized chronic pelvic pain is often accompanied by other symptoms such as pelvic pain that worsens as the day goes on, particularly if much time is spent standing, pelvic pain that worsens during menstruation, or after certain physical activities, varicose veins in the genital region or legs and Low back pain.

Treatment of Pelvic congestion syndrome:

Treating pelvic congestion through interventional radiology is simple and efficient. The Vein specialist inserts a thin catheter into the arm vein and directs it to the affected vein through X-ray guidance. The affected veins are treated using small springs (coils).

Benefits of the treatment include:

  • No pain
  • No anesthesia
  • Day case
  • Outpatient procedure
  • Pinhole surgery
  • Symptoms relief starts within weeks
  • Quick recovery time return to daily activities after treatment
Varicocele

Description:

A Varicocele is an enlargement of the veins within the loose bag of skin that holds the testicles (scrotum). It is similar to a varicose vein in the legs. Varicoceles are a common cause of low sperm production and decreased sperm quality, which may cause infertility.  A Doppler for the testicles is usually ordered by the physician to have a complete diagnosis of the condition. The signs and symptoms include a lump in one of the testicles, swelling in the scrotum, visibly enlarged or twisted veins in the scrotum, pain, and low sperm count and motility.

Treatment of Varicocele:

Varicocele Embolization is a minimally invasive, image-guided procedure that uses a catheter to place a tiny spring (coil) and/or embolic fluid in the testicular vein to divert blood flow away from a Varicocele.

Benefits of Varicocele Embolization include:

  • No pain
  • No anesthesia
  • Day case
  • Pinhole surgery
  • No surgical incision in the groin
  • Quick recovery time return to daily activities after treatment
  • Lower rate of recurrence compared to surgery
  • Pain relief and decreased need for pain killers
  • Better sperm quality and increased fertility rate
Hand Veins

Description:

As the skin ages and loses elasticity, hand veins can become more noticeable and bulge out of the skin. However, this can affect younger adults too. Hand veins are normal and usually are not considered a medical problem. In most cases, the treatment is purely for cosmetic reasons. Bulging hand veins are unlike varicose veins, which are found in the legs. The veins in the hands can swell and bulge for different reasons, including aging, exercise, and hot temperatures.

Treatment of Hand Veins:

Sclerotherapy is a well-known procedure to reduce the look of visible hand veins. During Sclerotherapy, a chemical solution is injected into predetermined veins. The solution makes the injected vein collapse, and it closes permanently. Numbness in hands is expected in the first 24 hours, over two to three weeks, the closed vein will heal and visually disappear.

Benefits of Hand Veins treatment by Sclerotherapy include:

  • No pain
  • Injection is done once unlike fillers
  • Day case
  • Results are permanent (one visit is needed after two weeks to close the treatment plan)
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

Description:

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot (thrombus) forms in one or more of the deep veins in the body, usually in the legs. Deep vein thrombosis can cause leg pain and swelling but also can occur with no symptoms. The signs and symptoms of DVT can include swelling and pain in the affected leg. The pain often starts in the patient calf and can feel like cramping or soreness, Red or discolored skin on the leg, and a warmth sensation in the affected leg.

Deep vein thrombosis can occur without noticeable symptoms and can be preventable by applying some measures including avoiding sitting still, not smoking, performing regular exercise and managing weight.

Treatment of DVT:

Most of the time, the treatment is with the blood thinner, in selected cases, your doctor might decide to go with a catheter into the thrombosed vein and use a chemical substance /blockbuster to open the occluded vein. It is a challenging procedure that is recommended to be discussed further with the physician as it requires admission.
